Daily Zoot - 3/5/09

The Daily Zoot is all the news you needed to know Yesterday, soon

-T.O. was released by the Cowboys last night. Owens played in Dallas for three seasons, and will now look for a new team to destroy in 2009. Owens led the league in drops last year, and has divided the three locker rooms he has been in. On the bright side he is 2nd all time in TD receptions, and can certainly bring some, well, uh, excitement(?) to your team. He is supremely talented, but equally toxic, like if Spike from Little Giants was on the actual Cowboys. I think that makes Tony Romo the Bermanator.

-A-Rod is out until May after surgery to resolve a cyst in his hip, according to his brother. Yeah, sure; if by cyst you mean a closed sac having distinct membrane and division on the nearby tissue, and by hip you mean the bony projection of the femur which is known as the greater trochanter and the overlying muscle and fat, then yeah, that's what he got.
O, He did mean that? Well then, color me embarrassed. I just hear A-Rod lie so much its hard to turn that filter off.

-The Cavaliers and the Celtics both clinched playoff spots last night, the first teams in the NBA to do so. From today, the first day it is possible to talk about the NBA playoffs, there is the potential for each of these teams to play basketball for another 3 and a half months. The NBA: Where seriously, still? Happens
